If you're managing social media on your own, you know it can be an overwhelming task. We've put together a list of resources that will up your social media game and help elevate your brand online.
If you're not familiar with Canva, we're about to blow your mind. You know that content is everything when it comes to your social media, but sometimes, without a graphic designer you feel like your digital presence looks a tad "handmade." With Canva, you can create visually appealing graphics with no graphic design skills whatsoever. Whether you are looking for social media posts, email banners, website photos, Canva has you covered. You can opt-in for their free version, or pay $12.99 USD for their premium account which allows you to upload your brand's custom fonts, colours and more.
2. Free Stock Photo Websites
Newsflash: you cannot just take want you want off Google Images and attach it to your website, social media or blog. The good news? There are so many great, free websites that allow you to access a variety of photos. Our two favourites are Pexels and Unsplash.
3. Social Media Management Tools
As a business owner, you have a million things on the go. Managing your social media is a lot easier with tools that allow you to pre-schedule content and quickly manage your community. We recommend Hootsuite or Buffer to get you started. Hootsuite is a great option if you only have three social accounts as you are allowed to post up to 30 posts ahead of time for free. With that being said, remember that you can automate, but don't alienate. Don't be a Live Nation disaster.
4. Google Alerts
Some days finding the right curated content can be hard and time consuming. By signing-up for Google Alerts, it allows you to get notified daily with relevant articles for your industry, your company and more. It's also a great way to see if your blogs are properly optimized for SEO and if anyone is talking about your brand online. Here's how you can set-up these alerts for your own business.
5. Preview App
It's no secret that creating and managing your Instagram presence can be overwhelming. Especially when you're an amateur photographer, like most of us are. An app we know and love is Preview. With Preview, you can schedule unlimited Instagram photos, videos and albums, for free. You can also drag and drop to rearrange the order of your posts and repost your favourite Instagram content. We highly recommend checking it out. Their editing options are also amazing, which allows you to make your images look much better than they actually are... because that's what Instagram is all about, right?
